National Geographic is doing their yearly photo contest. If you have a great shot from one of the many destinations you’ve been, you could submit it here: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/photo-contest…. National Geographic has such amazing photographs. I always love seeing which ones win. Do you know of any other places where professional photographers can go to submit their photographs for publication or to submit for prizes? You can also find a lot of contests listed at http://pdnonline.com and http://lightstalkers.org. Good luck! Posted: Sep 8, 2008 2:03pm
The weekly (Sunday) Parade Magazine supplement of most major newspapers always has a photo contest running. It’s pretty easy to log on tho their website and post a photo. I also send a few images each month to The Rocky Mountain News. These sites are free and it’s fun to look at other entries too. Posted: Sep 12, 2008 7:00am
Those are great ideas. I’ll have to keep those in mind. Thanks guys and gals! Posted: Dec 30, 2008 11:05am
Another great site is fotki.com If you have not checked it out, it is worth the try. This site is free or you can have a paid account and add even more pictures. There are contests all the time. Posted: Feb 27, 2009 5:55am
I haven’t heard of them before. I will definitely have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation! Posted: Feb 27, 2009 11:30am
I post all my photos to my flickr account, and make sure I tag them well with specific terms that describe the place and the activity, and I make them available under the creative commons license. I don’t make any money on them, but it does get me some great exposure. Travel and Leisure picked up one of my photos of my dinner at an underground restaurant in Paris through flickr. That’s great. I’ve only posted a few pictures to Flickr. I think that you’ve inspired me to post more. Posted: Mar 9, 2009 1:31pm
I also started up a Flickr account and have been posting all my photos there. Travel, family and really everything else. I don’t really understand the licensing part of things though… some I would like everyone to be able to see, but only family to download. Otherwise I don’t really care about… Posted: Mar 11, 2009 6:34am |
