Wellfleet Travel Guide: Reviews, photos, & videos

Oysters anyone? Well, for those who raised their hands, put them down and head up (or down depending where you’re coming from) to the gorgeous Cape Cod town of Wellfleet: famous for its eponymous oysters. And for those who happen to be reading this during the month of October then don’t even take the time to put your hand down because this marks the time of the famous annual Wellfleet OysterFest where the entire town joins together to celebrate – you guessed it – oysters! But there’s more to this coastal community than just a delicious - albeit slimy - seafood delicacy; much more. Located between the tip and the elbow of Cape Cod, Wellfleet is a seaside haven that attracts vacationers from all over the world each year for its pristine scenery, gorgeous beaches and thriving arts scene (the town has the second greatest concentration of art galleries in Cape Cod).

But it can be tough to truly enjoy a town without the proper lodging; thankfully, there’s plenty of Wellfleet vacation homes and available real estate in Wellfleet for the most discerning of vacationers. And with nearly half the land area taken up by the gorgeous Cape Cod National Seashore, doesn’t the idea of a Wellfleet beach house seem simply divine? With a year round population of just under 3,000 that explodes nearly six-fold during the summer, it’s no secret of the wonders that Wellfleet holds. Some head on down, try a few (or a hundred) oysters, and enjoy wonderful Wellfleet.
